Twenty 5 Submit Hybrid Application for new Elective Care Hub at Bedford Hospital

Twenty5 has submitted a hybrid planning application to Bedford Borough Council on behalf of the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a proposed 6 storey Elective Care Hub at Bedford Hospital. 

The proposal creates a dedicated space for routine operations, diagnostic tests and outpatient appointments, which would help reduce waiting times and minimise cancellations caused by emergency pressures.

Moving planned services into the new hub would free up space elsewhere in the hospital, allowing essential upgrades to older buildings and helping emergency and urgent care services function more effectively. 

As a major long‑term investment in local healthcare, the Elective Care Hub would support Bedford’s growing population and strengthen the hospital’s ability to deliver high‑quality, reliable care for decades to come.
